Position Description:    
A Senior Instructional Designer possesses excellent communication and project management skills, and is a key factor in the direction, quality, and timeliness of Remedy Education courseware. - A Senior Instructional Designer has a mastery of Instructional Design concepts, technology, and processes; and can effectively communicate and implement these processes through mentoring, project management, and development of templates. - Leading by example, a Senior Instructional Designer can independently and cost-effectively design and deliver a high-quality, audience appropriate ILT and/or WBT Remedy training course.

Position Requirements: Communicates the theories and practices of Instructional Design through mentoring of Instructional Designers and Technical Instructors.- Conducts and delivers complete task, learner, and needs analyses.- Develops complete and successful ILT and WBT courses independently that typically exceed quality requirements.- Uses project management tools and processes to plan, track, and adjust individual, as well as group, course development projects.- Consistently incorporates improvements to existing material.- Designs and develops lab exercises for successful training courses (concepts, procedures, testing, and reviewing).- Implements and documents processes for use by the Education Department.- Creates highly professional and user-friendly templates for ILT and WBT for use by the Education Department.- Builds key relationships with other Remedy departments such as Engineering, Support, and Consulting to gather training needs and technical content.- Participates in customer focus groups.- Regularly leads and participates in cross-functional projects.- Addresses courseware issues raised during beta teach of course.- Frequently provides constructive feedback on courseware quality.- Provides content and grammatical editing for Instructional Designers.- Anticipates and resolves common problems.- Coordinates the use of available resources to achieve short-term goals.- Balances long and short term goals by prioritizing activities.- Actively participates in curriculum planning sessions for new product training.- Adapts well to changing job and project requirements.- Recommends and implements solutions when project issues arise.- Demonstrates confidence and tact when speaking with customers and peers.- Responds to customer concerns on evaluations regarding courseware.- This position requires the following combination of demonstrated experience, skills and abilities:- Minimum 4-6 years experience as an Instructional Designer.- Minimum 2 years experience in project management.- Highly proficient in Adobe FrameMaker.- Highly proficient in at least one of the following graphics tools: Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia Fireworks, or Paint Shop Pro.- Highly proficient with HTML and web authoring tools such as Macromedia Dreamweaver. Position Requirements:               Design and develop instructor-led and web-based training courses and learning paths for building desired competencies within the consulting organizations of BMC and its partners.
• Leverage R&D materials to build courseware presentations and hands-on lab exercises using Global Solution Site.
• Understand and implement the theories and practices of Instructional Design.

• Coordinate input from Subject Matter Experts located in various geographical locations.
• With SME inputs and support, build and QA lab exercises using Global Solution Site and contributes to lab exercise development.
• Manage changes to curriculum due to new releases and acquisitions.
• Effectively extracts and interprets technical information from various sources such as Engineering, Support, and Sales.
• Regularly participates in cross-functional projects.
• Anticipates and resolves common problems.
• Coordinates the use of available resources to achieve short-term goals.
• Is capable of working independently with minimum supervision.
• Balances long and short term goals by prioritizing activities.
• Actively participates in curriculum planning sessions for new product training.
• Reviews training curriculum and provides feedback to other instructional designers.
• Adapts well to changing job and project requirements.
• Recommends and implements solutions when project issues arise.

• Minimum 2-3 years experience as an Instructional Designer.
• Proficient in Adobe Frame Maker, Adobe Captivate, and Articulate Studio.
• Proficient in at least one of the following graphics tools: Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia Fireworks, or Paint Shop Pro.
• Basic understanding of HTML, JavaScript, and Flash desired.

Special Qualifications
• Consulting and technical product/solution implementation experience with knowledge of implementation methodologies / best practices in BMC Service Support solutions.
• Proven experience developing courseware, training materials, technical content, including development of hands-on labs, using instructor led workshops and/or classrooms as well as virtual learning environments like web-based training, online, instructor led online, etc.
