Job Description: SQL DBA position with ACS A Xerox Company

Job Location: Bangalore

Experience: 7-8 Years

Technical Requirements:-
At least 4-5 years of total experience in supporting SQL Server. Out of which at least 2 years in supporting production servers.
Have experience in SQL 2000, 2005, 2008 and 2012. Installing, patching, upgrading and handling very large databases.
Have experience in installing and managing SQL failover clustering.
Have experience in replication set up and DTS/SSIS.
Comfortable in setting up and managing all the backup and recovery strategies.
Have good experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting
Good understanding of physical/logical lay out of the database files.
Having experience in third party tools like TSM TDP, VERITAS Net backup is a plus
Good communication is a must

General Responsibilities:-
SQL Server Data Administration is the core skill set required. Knowledge of the other database languages is a plus.
Able to work within regulatory processes
Able to work within standard operational procedure documentation requirements
Large Systems experience (multi-data base environment – large number of DBs to maintain).
Project planning and support as assigned.
Provide development and training solutions to support groups.
Provide technical consultation to other teams as required.
Provide consulting support for Infrastructure applications and customer application support as needed.
Other database skills for design and support of SQL Server databases are a plus.
Technical MSSQL DBA Skill Set
Ensures that this software is implemented efficiently with minimal impact on performance or availability of the production and test environments.
Monitors MS SQL Server DBs to maintain optimum utilization of all system resources.
Recommends and advises on action necessary to correct potential and existing problems to insure maximum system performance and data integrity.
Performs dB space monitoring and Re-organize as needed to optimize performance and ensures high availability.
