Processors
The IBM India processor
development group is involved in working on the next generation processors for
the IBM Server Systems. The team owns key deliveries that include Front end Design/Verification Back end design, System Simulation, Pervasive
Design/Verification and System ASICs Design/Verification
Education: Possess BS, MS, PhD, in Electrical Engineering and/or
Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science, 16 years of formal education
Job Requirements: Total Years of
experience: 15 years
Technical Know-how required for the
job: The Microprocessor Design verification leader will be a consultant to
senior management and will be responsible able for keeping abreast of Academic and
Industry advances in Microprocessor Design Verification and applying this
knowledge to make technical innovations that enhance IBM's ability to meet its
business objectives. By virtue of
distinguished and sustained technical achievement, contributions are superior
to those expected of senior hardware and software engineers and
scientists.
Job responsibilities will include:
Contribute to a significant degree to the organization's microprocessor
design/verification with proven ex-perience of taking multiple chips through
the entire development cycle
Represent the location and
division in high level task forces, Technology Team, IBM Academy studies, IBM
Academy Affiliate related activities, Architecture Board Work Groups
Present at internal and external
conferences as a technical evangelist for IBM technologies and
prod-ucts/solutions.
Sustain a robust relationship with
IBM clients. Possible activities include: on-site and off-site briefings participation in IBM sponsored client conferences such as Inner Circle or
Advanced ebusiness Council; identifying and incorporating client requirements
into IBM products/solutions; leadership in specific critical situa-tion
resolution; support of the Sales teams, IBM Client relationship teams, and IBM
Outsourcing teams; handling Critical Situations directly with customers.
Participate as a member or leader
of internal communities of practice, internal and external professional
societies and user groups (e.g. IEEE).
Skills required for the Job: Be
primarily a technical contributor.
Have a strong understanding of
computer architecture and micro-architecture design concepts
Have ability to work in a multi-cultural
global development team
Possess BS, MS, PhD, in Electrical
Engineering and/or Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science
Programming and scripting
experience – C++. Perl, Ksh, System Verilog,
Exposure to system architecture,
debug, characterization is desirable
Candidate should demonstrate
proficiency in many and excellence in a some of :
Design verification at block/unit
or full-chip level, running functional simulations and debugging failures
Development and execution of chip
verification plans
Developing directed tests, event
injectors, micro-architectural correctness checkers, coverage monitors
Developing and innovating on
verification infrastructure to identify bugs early in the development life
cycle.
Driving design reviews,
verification plan reviews, evaluate coverage plans and suggest / drive
methodology and implementation changes
